Food Bank of Alaska Senior Box Build

July 29th, 2020 by

Food Bank of Alaska put out a call for volunteers to help fill some last-minute openings for a volunteer shift at their warehouse. Kendall Auto Alaska’s Community Relations Manager, John Guintu, was available to answer the call and spend an afternoon alongside a team of community volunteers building food boxes for Alaskan seniors. By the end of the shift, a total of 278 senior food boxes were assembled!

The senior food boxes are part of the Commodity Supplemental Food Program. This program is dedicated to improving the health of low-income persons at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA Foods. Contact Food Bank of Alaska to learn more.
